Issei Yamazaki
JAPAN
Issei was born in Shiga, Japan. He played an active part as a swimming race player for the school days, and he became an instructor of the swimming after graduation. Afterwards he came across aerobic dance exercise in the gym where he trained. After having completed training school, he now works as an instructor of the aerobic dance exercise.
In 2008, he was shocked by a powerful performance by “Miss Vanilla” who was a champion of Miss Pole Dance Japan, that year. It was this show that compelled Issei to learn to pole dance. The desire to challenge himself through many powerful tricks on a pole is in his roots and it does not change.
Unfortunately, several months later, Miss Vanilla’s class closed, and Issei had a break from pole dance for a while. Triggered by an entry video to IPC 2010, Issei decided to restart pole dance again.
He does not have a teacher, but is self-taught practices alone. He began to participate in international competitions from 2011, and he made it to the finals in both of 2 competitions that he did.
Because he experienced the honor and the joy that came from participating in an international competition, Issei makes an effort more from now on and will continue challenging himself to push his boundaries and compete around the world.
